If you have any of the following conditions, or if you are allergic to clopidogrel:
any ongoing bleeding, such as a stomach ulcer or brain haemorrhage (such as from a head injury).
Inform your physician if you’ve ever had:
a stomach or intestinal ulcer, a bleeding or blood clotting condition, or both.
If you have specific genetic traits that alter how your body breaks down clopidogrel, it might not function as effectively for you. To ensure that clopidogrel is the proper medication for you, your doctor could do a blood test.
It is unlikely that this medication will hurt an unborn child. However taking clopidogrel one week before to delivery might make the mother haemorrhage. If you are pregnant or want to become pregnant, let your doctor know.
Using this medication while nursing is not advised.
What are the side effects of Plavix (Clopidogrel)?
